The Amazing Spider-Man #1 cover , by Humberto Ramos.

Peter Parker is returning! Yes, the original Peter Parker is returning to The Amazing Spider-Man series with a new #1 issue this April. As you all know, Peter had ultimately lost his battle with Dr. Otto Octavius (Doc Ock) and his body in the process via a mind switching scheme planned by Octavius. After the battle, Octavius vowed to be a superior Spider-Man. Gone was The Amazing Spider-Man, enter the Superior Spider-Man. We are currently on issue #25 and once we hit issue #30,  the New York Daily News reported, the real Peter will don the suit again! Here is the what the newspaper expressed about writer, Dan Slott's, Parker resurrection plan:
Thirteen months after Spider-Man’s alter-ego was fatally squashed in the pages of his comic book, Peter Parker is about to make a miraculous recovery.
The nerdy Queens-born super hero had gone out losing to the nefarious Dr. Octopus — who trapped his arch-enemy’s mind in his own dying body just in time for him to croak. Doc Ock, aka Otto Octavius, survived in Parker’s body to take up the mantle of Spider-Man with no one else the wiser.
Writer Dan Slott had known Parker’s demise wasn’t permanent and the wall-crawling Mets fan would be back in the relaunched “Amazing Spider-Man” series that debuts this April, but he had to endure reaction ranging from death threats to Internet backlash to children's tears while maintaining secrecy.
I am really excited to have my Spider-Man return to the comics. He has always been one of my favorite heroes and have always loved his, somewhat, relatable stories. Although, Superior Spider-Man has been pretty good as of late.  I do owe Dan Slott an apology, he has actually woven a pretty good tale. We shall see what the Slott twist shall be when Peter Parker returns this April with The Amazing Spider-Man #1.
